The way we present ourselves to other people depends on how we feel about ourselves and how confident we are in our own skin. If we’re not comfortable of how we look and our skin show signs of ageing it can knock our confidence no matter how well dressed we may be. We live in a world that is and always will be, appearance based no matter how hard we try to ignore it. Advances in appearance based treatments means that we can improve the way we look without the need for invasive surgery and long downtime at a fraction of the cost.
Appearance based treatments when administered correctly by a well-qualified professional won’t drastically alter your appearance but simply enhance what you already have whilst ensuring you remain looking fresh and feeling fabulous. Non-surgical cosmetic procedures, such as Botox, Dermal Fillers, Thread Lifts, Chemical Peels, Skin Needling and Collagen Stimulation Therapy are all treatments that can be used to enhance your appearance without the need for  invasive surgery.
Many of these procedures are carried out in private clinics and beauty salons by doctors, dentists, nurses and qualified beauty therapists as they are a popular alternative to invasive surgical procedures. However, these procedures aren’t regulated in the same way as cosmetic surgery, and practitioners of these treatments don’t always have the requisite medical qualifications. It is often left to the individual seeking a particular treatment, to find out more about the qualifications, training and experience of the aesthetic professional offering these treatments.
We have appointed Dr J Babbra BDS MFGDP(UK) DipDSed(UK), to carry out appearance based medical aesthetic treatments at our salon. Dr. Babbra is a Principal Dental Surgeon with his own practice in Richings Park and he will hold his clinic on appointed days only.
At Fresh & Fabulous Medi-Spa Beauty Salon we want to assure our clients that Dr J Babbra and our Medi-Spa Beauty Therapist are qualified and insured to carry out specific treatments competently and safely. Before booking any non-surgical procedure we encourage potential clients to find out more about what the procedure involves, any possible complications and side effect’s they may encounter by booking a  pre-treatment consultation. We believe that a pre-treatment consultation is as important as the treatment itself.
Please call the salon on 01628 788 972 to find out the clinic dates or see the calendar of events on our Home Page.   If you are on our mailing list you will be informed of the date in advance via email. If you would like to join our mailing list please use the contact form to send us your details.

Botox® is the brand or trade name given for the prescription only drug Botulinum® Toxin Type A. This is a highly purified protein derivative injection that been, since 1987 commonly used as a treatment for lines and wrinkles. For over 35 years the medical profession has used Botox to treat many medical conditions such as lazy eye, excessive sweating and cervical dystopia to name a few. Botox has a wide range of uses and new treatments are continually being researched and discovered.
As part of the ageing process and over time, the muscles we use on our face to create facial expressions do not disappear. For beauty and cosmetic purposes, Botox has become well-known as a safe and effective anti-ageing treatment as it simply relaxes these muscles that cause lines, wrinkles and sagging skin by softening then and making them less obvious. The skin appears more youthful and looks fresher as Botox prevents new wrinkles from developing. Botox usually takes effect 24-72 hours after injection, with maximum effect at about 1 to 2 weeks. Its effects generally last for approximately 3-4 months. However, once the Botox treatment is stopped the muscles will begin to function normally and resume the ageing process.
The most commonly treated areas on the face are crow’s feet, frown and forehead lines. It can also be used in the lower face and to treat excessive sweating. The treatment of Botox is extremely safe and effective when administered by a trained and experienced medical professional. These medical professional will ensure that the right dosage is used in the right area to avoid asymmetrical results, muscle drooping, frozen expressions and potentially dangerous consequences. This treatment should under no circumstances be undertaken by an untrained non-medical professional.
Botox® is often ranked as the No. 1 cosmetic treatment in the UK because it is safe, quick, painless and it works! This non-surgical anti-ageing treatment is referred to as the world’s best wrinkle reducer due to its dramatic anti-ageing effects and ability to rejuvenate skin.

Botox® is also used for other advanced techniques such as eye rejuvenation, brow lift, lower face to lift the jowls, define the jaw line and soften lines around the lips, commonly known as smokers lines. Botox® can also treat non-facial body areas such as neck, chest / décolletage for reducing fine lines and creases. Please discuss your requirements with Dr Hayter during your consultation.
This delicate area is constantly exposed and is the hardest to protect. Over the years it dries out as environmental effect, lifestyle, health and ageing all takes its toll. The skin loses its elasticity as hyaluronic acid diminishes and becomes dull with lines and wrinkles. Over-the-counter moisturisers can only do so much as they do not have the required ingredients to make a difference. Typically many moisturisers do not penetrate deep enough into the skin to create a lasting effect. However isn’t too late to slow the effects of ageing in this area and the application of Botox is just the thing.
Chronic migraine affects approximately 700,000 in the UK and for some people the condition can be debilitating and significantly reduce the quality of their life. The cause of migraines varies from one individual to another and there are various triggers ranging from bright lights to eating certain foods. The definition of chronic migraines is that the person in question has to have a headache on more than 15 days of each month, at least eight of which are migraines. During the procedure Botox injections are administered into known trigger points in both the head and neck. The Botox procedure is then repeated every 3 or 6 months depending on the severity of the migraines.
HYPERHIDROSIS (excessive sweating)
Botox® is often hailed as a cure for hyperhidrosis as the injection of Botulinum toxin into the sweat glands around the nerve endings prevent sweat from being produced. Botox® hyperhidrosis treatment is used on the forehead, underarms, palms of hands and soles of feet with results lasting between 8-12 months.

DERMAL FILLERS (Restylane & Juverderm)

Restylane® and Perlane® are a range of Hyaluronic Acid based dermal fillers, which safely and effectively reduce lines, folds, wrinkles and contours to create volume whilst hydrating the skin to improve its appearance. They are used to smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) or the darker depressions or circles that appear under your eyes (tear troughs). Restylane is the worlds most used, most studied of dermal fillers and has an extensive range of products suited to individual treatment needs.
Juvéderm™ is a smooth consistency injectable gel, made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) that will instantly restore facial skin volume whilst smoothing away folds and wrinkles. HA is a naturally occurring sugar found in our skin’s cells which absorbs moisture and keeps your skin hydrated and youthful. As we age, the amount of HA we possess diminishes and as a subsequence the skin loses its elasticity and we begin to see the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Other factors such as lifestyle, pollution, sun exposure and ill health also contribute to the deterioration of our facial skin and muscles. Juvéderm® facial fillers can gently ease the signs of ageing by subtly enhancing what nature has given you, so that you can regain your youthful look, naturally.

A youthful face has round contours, high cheekbones and a well-defined jawline. There are smooth curves from the cheeks to the edge of the nose, without hollows. Wrinkles and fine lines commonly appear along the lips and eyes and between the nose and mouth. Even though our wrinkles come with a wonderful history of laughter and smiles, we often wish we could preserve our natural look and hold onto our youthful glow. As we grow older, the HA we once produced starts to diminish. Our skin becomes dry and facial volume decreases. Gravity pulls the skin down, resulting in folds and sagging.
Over time, the middle of your face loses volume and the lower part of the face begins to form jowls. The skin starts to sag, pulling the features downwards. And although weight loss can often be a positive thing, it can be a factor when it comes to sagging facial skin. With HA we can sculpt the cheeks and face, soften and erase deeper lines and hydrate the skin. The results are instant and can last up to 12 months depending on the type of filler used and the area treated.
The skin on your lips is constantly moisturised from within by HA which over time, diminishes and lines begin to appear around the mouth. The lips become thinner with the loss of fullness and lack of definition. The skin develops vertical, or “marionette”, lines around the mouth and may lead to a droop to the corners of the mouth, giving lips a sad appearance. Our lips are one of the most vulnerable areas for ageing, as the skin here is very thin. Don’t let ageing skin ruin your beautiful smile!
Juvéderm® also helps to subtly reshape and redefine the chin area by giving your face a natural lift. The aim of this treatment is to add volume by improving its appearance by gentle definition.
As we age and continue ageing the hollow area between the eye area and the upper cheek can deepen, creating a tired hollow look with sunken eyes or dark circles. This sunken area just below the inner corners of your eyes is known as the tear trough. A deep tear trough can create a shadow that is perceived as a dark circle below the eye. The delicate skin in this region sags as fat deposits are redistributed with age. The tear trough becomes more visible in the mid-forties and continued ageing leads to volume loss and tissue laxity in the lower eyelids it becomes more prominent. They can sometimes be seen in younger people even those in their twenties as it can also be genetic.
